FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE: - 10-30-01 PULSAR GAMES INCORPORATED announces a contest. PGI is looking for a written submission of **two phases of a combat** using the Blood of Heroes role-playing game, for use in the upcoming Blood of Heroes: Gamemaster Screen. Winner will be judged from all viable entries conforming to the REQUIREMENTS (below) and will receive a free copy of the Gamemaster Screen and a free copy of Blood of Heroes: Special Edition. In addition the author will be listed on the credits page of the GM Screen. Multiple submissions will be accepted, but only one will be selected. Please include Name, Shipping Address, E-Mail, and Daytime Phone Number. This contest ends November 10th. Winner will be notified and name will be posted on the Pulsar Games web site. REQUIREMENTS: 1) Select from 5 to 7 Characters from Blood of Heroes: Special Edition, preferably from two opposing groups. Pets and Sidekicks COUNT as Characters in the above computation (example: Taniera and her pet Roc are 2 Characters, as long as Roc is used in the combat). 2) There cannot be more than 4 characters on the same side. 3 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3, or 3 vs. 4 . 5 characters MIN, 7 characters MAX. 3) List each Character's Name and base Initiative (include bonuses from Martial Artist and Lightning Reflexes - already done FOR YOU in Blood of Heroes: Special Edition). 4) We are looking for TECHNICAL DETAILS, not FLUFFY TEXT. This means that we want FOR EACH CHARACTER FOR EACH PHASE: a) The Hero Points (if any) the Character bid on Initiative (Use the HP listed on the Character Writeup as reference). b) The Initiative Dice Roll. c) The Resulting Initiative. d) A SHORT, yet descriptive Dice Action. e) TWO SHORT, yet descriptive Automatic Actions. f) The results of what happened to the Character (did his action(s) succeed, did they get cancelled out by another's action, etc.) 5) Write the Character's actions as though the Character with lowest Resulting Initiative had to declare his actions first. 6) A Character does not have to use his Dice Action during a phase, nor does he have to use BOTH of his Automatic Actions, but there must be at least ONE Character who uses his Dice Action and BOTH of his Automatic Actions in the same phase. 7) Declare Killing Combat (if necessary) as well as any Combat Maneuvers in the Character's Action. 8) Declare details of specific actions. Example: if setting a 20 AP Power Reserve to +10 Strength and +10 Dexterity, MENTION THAT. 9) None of the selected Characters may use Superspeed to gain additional Dice Actions. Preferably, do not select Characters with this ability. 10) The phases may be at any point in the combat; the submission may be the start of a combat (phases 1 and 2) or the middle (phases 4 and 5) or towards the end (phases 7 and 8). Preferably we would like a combat "in media res". 11) The number of text characters used to describe a Character's Dice and two Automatic Actions should not (but may - we will cut it down as necessary) exceed 100 characters total (including spaces).
